As part of our Demand Response Service offerings, we work with clients to help them manage Demand Side Response (DSR) resources in the various ISO markets. We quantify the potential benefits of participating in proposed and existing DSR programs and help the client to make an informed decision.  Once the client decides to enter the program(s) we provide support by enrolling the client, bidding in capability, and notifying the client when it is economic to reduce consumption.

We evaluate the economics of centralized versus distributed generation for our clients.  We determine the viability and profitability of distributed generation based on market conditions, including ISO or state load demand response programs, customer usage patterns, environmental regulation, fuel costs and the ability to site and operate the generation.

Evaluating and accounting for risk exposure is often a complex and data-intensive process, varying by market. We analyze a client’s risk profile by reviewing the structure of its wholesale contracts, delivered cost of power including congestion and losses, and its generation.  Types of risk analysis can include contract performance risk, plant outage risk, congestion and marginal loss risk, and fuel procurement risk.  We will quantify a client’s risk exposure and make recommendations to keep that risk exposure in line with the client’s overall objectives.  

Accurately forecasting load can minimize the risk of over or under purchasing power. Our analysis is designed to help the client make better decisions in purchasing and allocating energy and ancillary costs based on the actual consumption of the client's customers.  We will forecast energy consumption based on the profiles and methodology that the utilities and ISOs use to calculate the client's wholesale energy bill.  

Tariff structures throughout the country are not only very diverse, but often change annually and may require re-evaluation. Customized Energy Solutions provides comprehensive tariff analysis which is a valuable tool for an entity that is marketing electricity.  We help our clients understand whether it will be profitable to sell to a particular customer or customer class. Our tariff analysis approach uses typical and actual usage data to answer these questions so the client can make timely sales and strategy decisions. We can also help clients accurately show their customers a "price-to-compare" alongside the offer price.
